March-Stay Informed

STUDENTS

You have hit the time of the year that is often hardest for students. School has probably become a bit predictable, and you are probably already looking forward to the end of the year. My best advice for you is to stay focused. In terms of learning, there is still a lot to do. Please talk to your teachers if you having trouble with something. Go for extra help if you are able. Your teachers are there to help you, but you have to make the first move.

PARENTS

You, too, may start to become a bit complacent at this time of year. Re-energize and stay informed. Your child may need you more at this time of year because his/her interest may be waning a bit. Check the teachers’ websites often. These are the best sources of current information. Also, initiate conversations with your child about school. Ask him/her about what he/she is learning. Ask him/her to share some exciting new fact. You might have to “dig” a bit to get to this information, but it is important to let your child know that you care about what is happening in school.
